Jamel Randall
The Trap Yoga and Massage Studio

Jamel Randall born and raised in Detroit,Mi uses a fun vibrant approach while introducing the message of mindfulness and self liberation. In 2007, on the heels of the death of both parents from cancer Jamel would soon gain full guardianship of his disabled sister. His life had changed drastically at just 21 yrs old. The mental blow of losing parents was combated by the physical blow of a back injury. This led him to seek overall relief from a life that was breaking him down. It was during a visit with a friend where yoga was suggested.

The first day led to many days until eventually Jamel dove in completely. Studying, practicing and being trained all over the world in the healing modalities of yoga, massage therapy and the philosophies of eastern medicine.

With over 18years of experience he realized that more people in the communities needed this. Unfortunately the world of yoga hasn’t always been inviting to those minorities and those that don’t match the profile of a “yogi”. This need led Jamel to enter yoga teacher training with the hope to inspire others to begin. Jamel’s dedication and passion shined so much that midway through training Jamel’s teacher pulled him aside.

“Jamel I feel like you can be a vessel to a community that I simply cannot reach. Take this practice that you’ve learned and deliver it to others seeking peace just as you were.”

This sparked Jamel to begin teaching his Trap Yoga classes where he incorporates music, dance and yoga as a way to introduce the practice in a fun yet informative way.

Since then Jamel has taught and spoke on the benefits to thousands in his hometown of Detroit,Mi and across the country. His teachings have been requested at corporations, groups, schools and Frito Lay,Brefix,The Boys and Girls Clubs,Illinois State University,Alma College and many more seeking to introduce wellness to their team.

In 2016 he founded The Trap Yoga and Massage Studio. A company with a mission to introduce, teach and encourage health and wellness as a lifestyle.

Jamel believes that the way towards a life free from restriction is by embracing the uncomfortable parts of your life story and inspiring others to do the same as a result of your actions. Jamel developed the T.R.A.P method. A four part system that teaches busy teams/individuals to create a lifestyle that pours into themselves first before spreading to others.

JAsmine Johnson & Janelle Ross
Sol & Sound

Sol & Sound was founded by best friends and business partners, Janelle Ross and Jasmine Amirah. Jasmine and Janelle are both Los Angeles natives born and raised in Inglewood, CA. They met at City Honors High School during their freshman year and have been friends ever since.

During their college years, Janelle studied Economics and Computer Science at Dartmouth College while Jasmine attended UC Berkeley to study Media Studies. Upon graduating from college, Jasmine went on to author her first book, The Daily Spiritual Practice and Janelle built a career in women's health assisting women with fertility issues. Together the dynamic duo combined their passions for multi-dimensional wellness, music, and community impact to create Sol & Sound.

Sol & Sound originated in 2020 amidst the global disharmony spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic and the collective pain felt during the racial protests led by the Black Lives Matter movement. In response to these unprecedented times, Janelle and Jasmine created an outdoor space for sound healing that nurtured generational wounds; improved mental, spiritual and physical health; and stimulated BIPOC businesses. Since the first Sol & Sound event in August 2020, the experience has evolved to include elements of dance, music, and transformative meditation practices encompassed in a spirit of joy and celebration--simply put, it's a vibe.
